Douce noir, or sweet black, is the name given from the Savoie region of France, where it is believed to originate. Named for its inky dark color and the sweet juice, this varietal is quite the world traveler. Known by different names around the globe, this deeply enticing varietal can be tightly wound at first, but after a few swirls in the glass, the aromatics open up with aromas of brambleberry, dried sage and graphite. On the palate, it encompasses all of the taste regions with nuances of dried currants, tobacco and star anise. The lastin, bright finish, will keep a lasting bright smile on your face!

My best friend finds cans too heavy. She is a devoted Pinot Noir drinker. We have broken her out of her rut with your Charbono! This cab drinker and her favorite Pinot drinker can share a bottle thanks to this wonderful varietal!
